Can naturalized citizens get Global Entry? ›

Only U.S. Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, and Mexican nationals are issued Global Entry cards.

Changes in any documents that you used to establish your Global Entry account, such as your passport can be updated online in your Global Online Enrollment System, or GOES, account. Changes to immigration status must be made in person with appropriate documentation at a Global Entry Enrollment Center.

Reasons for Ineligibility

You may not be eligible for participation in the Global Entry program if you: Provide false or incomplete information on the application; Have been convicted of any criminal offense or have pending criminal charges or outstanding warrants (to include driving under the influence);

Schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center

Each applicant must schedule a separate interview. (Please Note: 80% of applications are approved within 2 weeks while some applications can take up to 12 months or longer to be processed.)

How far back do Global Entry background checks go? They will go back 10-20 years of your record, but if you have at least kept your record clean for the past ten years, then it won't prevent you from getting a Global Entry membership.

All travelers must have a passport book for international air travel. Please note that hospital-issued birth certificates, voter registration cards, and affidavits cannot be used. If you were not born in the United States, you can use your original Naturalization Certificate or Certificate of Citizenship.

Membership will remain valid, even if the passport expires. If you receive TSA PreCheck^® benefits through your Global Entry membership, you will not be eligible to use them until you have renewed your passport and updated your account.

While your card isn't required to access Global Entry kiosks at the airport, there are other scenarios in which you'll need it. If you plan to take advantage of Global Entry's access to NEXUS or SENTRI, your Global Entry card will be required.

CBP has welcomed 16 Global Entry countries to date, including Croatia, Bahrain, Argentina, Colombia, Germany, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Brazil, the United Kingdom and, most recently, the Dominican Republic.

There may be additional Global Entry requirements depending on your country of citizenship. Individuals who have broken immigration laws in any country are ineligible for Global Entry, as is anyone convicted of a crime or the subject of an investigation.

Can you get approved for Global Entry without an interview? ›

Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) is CBP program that allows Global Entry applicants who are conditionally approved to complete their interviews upon arrival into the United States; including those entering the United States via a designated CBP Preclearance location.

If you regularly travel outside of the United States, you should consider Global Entry, which will include TSA PreCheck anyway. Not only will you get all of the benefits of TSA PreCheck, but you'll also be able to access an expedited customs process when you return to the United States after traveling abroad.

If you travel internationally four or more times a year, consider enrolling in Global Entry. If you take less than four international trips a year, TSA PreCheck is a great choice for domestic travelers. The average processing time of a Global Entry application can take up to six months, according to the TTP website . In part, that's because of the program's popularity, but the time the application process takes can also be based on the availability for interviews at your nearest enrollment center.

Who is Eligible? Please add information from a passport, birth certificate, or other document proving your citizenship. If you are applying for Global Entry, you must include a valid passport. If you are a U.S. citizen, your proof of citizenship should have been added automatically. No additional documents are needed.

All Indian Global Entry members must have a valid passport and a valid visa. Global Entry members who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. lawful permanent residents must maintain updated visa information with CBP.
