Shadow Lake Towne Center hosted its annual tree lighting ahead of expected busy holiday shopping season

Shadow Lake Towne Center mall in Papillion, NE, hosted its 17th Annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade on Wednesday.The parade is the kickoff of the busy holiday shopping season and at Shadow Lake they are feeling well prepared ahead of that shopping madness that'll begin Black Friday. Director of Marketing Erin Kampschneider says it will be one of the busiest holiday shopping seasons in a long time."We're expecting a busier than normal holiday season,” Kampschneider said. “We've got quite a few new shops that have just opened out here at the mall. We expect a lot of people out here for shopping this holiday season."One of those new shops is Carter’s, which opened its doors just last month in October."We're looking to be very busy and have a lot of traffic for sure," store manager Dana Saville said.Saville says being prepared ahead of Black Friday is always key."We're just making sure that we have everything, all of our deals highlighted, and we have everything ready like out of the back for sizes, so it's easy to just grab and go,” Saville said.She also says they are always prepared with a backup plan for staffing."We're well staffed, and we have extra people we can call if needed," Saville said.Shoppers Wednesday bundled up battling the cold. Foot traffic was light, but it won't be that way for long."The weekends are very busy out here; parking can be very tricky. If you can get here on a weekday, that would be fantastic.
